To Become a Client

There must be an initial complimentary Meet ’n Greet Visit to enable the pet-sitter and the pet to become introduced to one another prior to the first visit. The pet owner (adult) must be present to meet with the pet-sitter. The pet-sitter will discuss the pet with the owner and determine if this will be a good fit between the pet-sitter and the pet. A contract for services will be reviewed with the owner at the time of the Meet ‘n Greet.

Reservations

Reservations should be made as early as possible and confirmed at least 24 hours in advance of service.

The pet owner must speak directly with the pet-sitter prior to the reservation date to be sure the pet-sitter is informed of any current issues related to the pet.

The Pet Service Contract and Pet Profile Form must be read, agreed upon, signed and returned by the owner prior to the start of the pet-sitting service.

Vaccines

Dogs must be current with rabies vaccine and must have a valid dog license in their town of residence. Young or newly acquired dogs without full vaccination will not be walked to limit exposure to other animals.

Cats must be vaccinated against rabies. Cats will remain inside the home during a visit.

Responsibilities of the Pet Owner

Directions for feeding and/or administration of medication must be written out by the owner and made available to the pet-sitter.

Owner must be sure to leave sufficient food and/or medication available to cover the number of days of care.

Key/home security code must be made available.

Medical Emergencies and Accidents

Pet owner must make emergency contact information and signed reservation form available to the pet-sitter.

Should a medical event or accident occur, the owner authorizes the pet-sitter to make the determination to seek vet care as soon as possible in an emergency situation; and gives the pet-sitter permission to contact the pet owner or designated person to request medical treatment by a veterinarian for a non-emergency event or accident; if the pet-sitter is unable to reach either the pet owner or designated person, the pet-sitter has authorization to seek vet care. The owner assumes all financial responsibility for payment of medical services rendered.

Payment

Cash and checks are accepted and preferred. Debit cards and credit cards will be accepted once an electronic payment service has been setup. The owner will receive an invoice of the total payment due when the last visit is made. Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice.
